Port Angeles, WA, USA ― May 2008.

Fontlab Ltd. announces the release of the multilingual versions of SigMaker 3, an affordable font utility that allows users to turn any image such as a scanned signature, a corporate logo or a digital photo into a font that can be easily used in any wordprocessing or graphic application ― all in six easy steps. The user picks an image, optionally opens one of the fonts installed on their system, chooses the keystroke position under which the new symbol will be available ― and SigMaker does the rest. It will generate a modified version of the original font or a tiny one-glyph font, either in the Adobe InDesign-compatible SING glyphlet format, or as a universally usable OpenType ?fontlet?.

In September 2007, Fontlab Ltd. released the English language version of SigMaker 3. Now, the user interface and the user manual have been fully translated into German, French, English, Japanese and Chinese. ?This marks an important moment in our company?s history,? said Ted Harrison, president of Fontlab Ltd. ?Users in Europe, South America and Asia have been regularly asking about the availability of translated versions of our products. With the localized version of SigMaker, we hope that the first steps in font modification and creation will become even easier for users in many regions of the world. We have plans to localize other products in future,? so Harrison.

SigMaker is based on the high-end font technology engine of FontLab Studio, which guarantees the highest quality of the final fonts. SigMaker accepts images in most popular graphic formats such as JPEG, GIF, PNG, TIFF and Illustrator EPS.

The English version of SigMaker 3 for Mac OS X and Windows retails for US$29.95. The European version (that includes German, French and Spanish translations) and the Japanese version retail for US$44.95. The Chinese version of the product retails for US$9.95.
